Going out to eat is a special treat, so it’s important to know where you can go with your family and have a good meal and a good time. EZ’s Restaurant
various locations around San Antonio
(210) 828-7770
A family favorite, EZ’s is a great chain that started right here in good old San Antonio. Their 50’s style fits their tasty food. With pizza, burgers, salads, entrees, and don’t forget the milkshakes, EZ’s has great options for the whole family to enjoy a meal out. Our editor’s daughter, Twirl, heartily recommends their caesar salad. Plus, kids eat for free on Wednesday, making EZ’s a great alternative for your summer on a budget. Also – EZ’s is pet friendly on Sundays during Yappy Hour. (Thanks Jennifer S)
The Longhorn Cafe
17625 Blanco Rd Ste 1
San Antonio, TX 78232 (and other various locations)
(210) 492-0301
The Longhorn Cafe is home to the original Big Juicy. That’s a burger that lives up to its name as they pride themselves on always serving fresh ingredients and fresh beef that makes the difference in their food. Serving quality food in ample portions at a fair price, the Longhorn Cafe offers burgers and fries as their specialty, with some tasty alternatives like salads, sandwiches, and good old-fashioned Texas-style dinners (think chicken-fried). Open 7 days a week. (Thanks for the tip Karen M)

Hi!!! I´m going from Mexico to SA with a group of 75 6th graders normally we went to the Rainforest Cafe in the Riverwalk for 1 dinner, but they are telling us the they are book up and can recieve us…
Can you help me with some options to substitute the Rainforest Cafe!!!
Thanks!!!
If you’re looking to stay on the Riverwalk, there’s a listing of all the restaurants here: http://www.thesanantonioriverwalk.com/directory/category/casual-dining
The Republic of Texas Restaurant might be a good option for your group. They’ve got ‘texas themed’ foods and decor at relatively reasonable prices. Other options you might look into: The Hard Rock Cafe, Casa Rio, or the Original Mexican Restaurant.
I think all of them would be able to accommodate the size of your group and have good options for hungry kids. Good luck with the trip! Hope you all have fun!
Thank you!
