Okay, San Antonio, it’s time to get in your swim suit, wet suit, snorkel and floaties and head to the pool. We’re setting a World Record. And not a strange World Record like longest fingernails or something. Thursday, June 14th is the day of the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson.

Have you ever known anyone that set a World Record? Well, now you and your family can claim your spot in the record books. Well, sort of. Actually, 46 U.S. states and more than 24 countries are participating in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson….and you can help. (Sheesh…the old Shake and Bake commercials are ringing in my ears right about now.)

Why do it? It’s not really for the fame and fortune that a Guinness World Record will get you (because fame is fleeting, you know). Drowning remains a leading cause of injury related death for children ages 1 to 14. Don’t let that scare you away from participating. Instead, let it inspire you to action. Learning to swim and respect the water that is all around us can be a life saving skill. So let’s do this thing. Register early or the day of the event.

The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson will take place simultaneously around the globe at 10 a.m. Central. So saddle up the family and get your swim on (we know it’s hot enough for it).

Here are the locations where you can help break the World Record:
