Bravo! Travel back to Old San Antonio through Song and Dance

Starting July 4th and 5th and continuing every Wednesday and Thursday throughout July, bring the family out to the Arneson River Theater at La Villita to experience an evening of song and dance that you are sure to remember.
Come to Bravo! An Evening of Song and Dance and see award winning summer dance performances that will ignite your passion for old San Antonio. The Fandango and Alamotion Dance Troupes will transport you with colorful, traditional costumes and dramatic performance numbers rooted in the cultural heritage of Mexico and Spain. They’ll be performing in a variety of styles including: Mexican Folkloric, Spanish Flamenco, tap, jazz, hip hop and lyrical dance.
Feel the flavor of the city and culture with each performance. The stage will heat up to the beat of the classical guitar as Spanish Flamenco’s click their castanets. Get caught up in the unique drama of traditional folkloric numbers. And just try to resist tapping along with the high energy jazz and tap routines.
The Fandango and Alamotion dance troupes are made up of young dancers who participate in auditions in the fall that are open to all dancers as well as those participating in the San Antonio Parks & Rec sponsored dance programs. Both of these troupes perform throughout the year at various events citywide, and this is your chance to see them at their best.
This year, you can also enjoy the City’s youth band, TAKE NOTE. See young SA performers give it their all as they accompany the dance numbers and showcase some of their lead singers. Each week there is also a special local celebrity guest artist featured.
The show starts at 8 pm every Wednesday and Thursday, July 4 – 26. The box office opens at 7 pm and there is a suggested donation of $10.
