It’s the final stretch of summer vacation, and there’s still time to take one last summer trip. But then, what to do with Fido? We’ve scoped out some options for your dog so you can go ahead and plan that last fling before school starts.

Lucy’s Doggie Day Care

With two locations, one on the northside and one downtown, Lucy’s is the ultimate dog-cation. Your pup can make friends with other dogs, get attention and pampering, experience luxury boarding and finish off his stay with a bath before returning home with you. Even a luxury suite complete with a heavenly dog-bed and flat-screen TV. Standard rates for boarding start at $28 a night for small dogs and go up to $39 for the luxury treatment.

Camp Bow Wow

Conveniently located near the airport at 11931 Jones Maltsberger, Camp Bow Wow is another alternative to your typical boarding house. Offering Dog Day and Overnight Camp, your dog keep busy with fun dog camp activities. Each dog gets its own cabin, though siblings are allowed to share to make it more like home. They can relax to soothing music at bedtime along with enjoying tasty “campfire” treats. Camp showers are also available for those pups that need to clean up before heading home. The standard overnight rate is $35 and packages are available for longer stays.

DogVacay

If you’re looking for a more personal, one-on-one experience for your dog, DogVacay is your connection to dog-lovers ready and able to care for your pup while you’re away. Sign up for free and find dog-watching candidates in your neighborhood, as well as their rates and services. Not going anywhere, but willing to open your home to someone else’s pet? Sign up yourself as a dog walker or boarder.

Pawderosa Ranch

There’s lots of room to run at Pawderosa Ranch. With two locations, North Central San Antonio and Northeast in Schertz, your dog can stay overnight in her very own den after roaming the grounds and playing all day. With grooming available, and even wag cams (where you can keep an eye on your dog while you’re away), Pawderosa wants to make sure your pet is comfortable and having fun. The standard rate is $32 a night for one dog, and multiple dogs get a group rate.

Sea World Kennel Services

Planning a trip to SeaWorld but don’t want to leave your pet behind? Sea World has outdoor kennels available to you free of charge. The kennels are off the main guest parking lot and are open to your family to use. Bring your own toys and food for the dog. They’ll provide bowls and water. It’s not an overnight kennel, but it is an alternative to leaving your favorite friend at home or in a hotel all day by himself.

Where are your pup’s favorite places to stay while you’re away?
