Travel Tuesday: Build LEGOs, win a getaway
Posted by Sarah W on August 07, 2012
You’ve got ten days…ready, set…build. What’s it going to be? A giant Lone Star State? A cowboy boot? How about a ten-gallon hat or a horse? Maybe the Alamo or a football. A Dallas cheerleader? No, scratch that. A Blue Bell ice cream cone.
Whatever Texas creation your child can dream up and build out in LEGOs may end up being a winner in Texas Monthly’s Build Your Best Texas LEGO Contest. Submit a photo on the Facebook Contest Page and your child (has to be under the age of 18) could be one of five lucky winners.
Grand Prize is a trip for four to the LEGO KidsFest held in Austin August 31st. It includes four tickets to the VIK (Very Important Kid) Preview event and LEGO KidsFest, a two-night stay downtown, local area restaurant vouchers, and a travel stipend.
Second Prize is none too shabby either….four tickets to the LEGOLAND Discovery Center, Sea Life Grapevine Aquarium, and the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. Plus, a two night stay in Grapevine, a restaurant gift card, and a travel stipend.
Runners up win tickets for four to the LEGO KidsFest in Austin.
But hurry up and get snapping. The contest ends Friday, August 17th at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be announced by Wednesday, August 22.
Your child’s playful creativity could win your family a last minute Texas getaway, thanks to Texas Tourism, Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau, Grapevine Convention and Vistors Bureau, LEGO KidsFest, and Texas Monthly.
