PREP Programs
The PREP UTSA Pre-freshman Engineering Program is a multi-year program for middle schoolers who might be interested in pursuing engineering as a career. Held by UTSA at college campuses around town, students must apply, and they must be serious. This is not for the light-hearted or maybe-I’ll-try-it types. To give you some sense of it: last yar 2,359 students applied for admission, 1,441 were accepted, 1,356 began the program, and only 1,210 completed it successfully. For students who attend, the Texas Education Agency approves one unit of elective credit for each summer successfully completed.
This year’s application process is closed…but keep your eyes on the website come November. You can download the application here.
The St. Mary’s PREP Program is a Robotics and Java Programming Summer Program at St. Mary’s University. Three six-day camps are free for those accepted into the program. Details here.
