Texas Mathworks

Honestly, I typically stay away from recommendations on camps…I just list ‘em here folks. But I just can’t sing the praises of Texas Mathworks enough. This unique program developed out of Texas State University in San Marcos is nationally known and acclaimed. While Boy Genius wasn’t quite ready for the residential camp, he did choose to go to the day camp. Half-days. That meant leaving San Antonio at 7 a.m. each morning and driving back at noon for two weeks. A real commitment on my part. But for the work he did and what he learned, it was worth every inch of highway and every drop of gas. I loved that they were flexible enough to move him to a higher class when they realized he was functioning above grade level. That kind of accommodation is often hard to find.

There’s both a day program and a residential one.
